A corrupt rancher paints his horse to look like a wild stallion in order to rustle wild horses out of a federally protected area. When the local sheriff investigates, the rancher and his men trample him to death and blame it on a different wild stallion. The three heroes find themselves in the middle of the controversy by proving that the wild horse is innocent. This film is another installment in the long-running "Three Mesquiteers" westerns. Rita Hayworth, billed as Rita Cansino, makes an early screen appearance as a saloon songstress and gets to perform an original song "Winding the Trail".
